Kona Medical Consulting is seeking a professional receptionist for our client based in Kentwood, Michigan. The details of the role are as follows:
JOB SUMMARY
As the initial point of contact for clients, you will be responsible for greeting visitors, answering incoming telephone calls and fax communications, and transferring calls appropriately. This role also involves providing clerical support, performing secretarial duties, and assisting with delegated projects, all while delivering exceptional customer service to our clients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome individuals entering the agency, respond to calls, provide general information, screen visitors, and relay messages effectively.
- Type memos, correspondence, agendas, and reports as needed.
- Assist with assigned accounting functions.
- Schedule appointments and notify staff members regarding upcoming meetings.
- Maintain organized files for the clinic.
- Open and distribute mail to the appropriate personnel or departments.
- Aid in filing correspondence.
- Perform photocopying tasks as required.
- Execute other duties as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with HIPAA best practices and adherence to related policies and procedures.
- Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant is a plus.
- Previous office experience, particularly in healthcare or with electronic medical records (EMR), is preferred.
- Understanding of medical terminology and/or a general medical background is advantageous.
- Proven strong telephone etiquette and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and comprehending English.
- Maintain personal hygiene and dress appropriately for a professional environment.
