Job description:
Cleans and disinfects assigned work areas in accordance with departmental protocols. Responsible for the removal of medical waste, trash, and linens. Conducts interim and restorative maintenance of the health system’s hard floors, carpets, and upholstery following established procedures. Functions effectively within a designated area of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
– Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking patient rooms, offices, and ancillary spaces as per established guidelines.
– Manages the removal and disposal of linens and waste materials.
– Performs interim and restorative maintenance for hard floors, carpets, and upholstery in compliance with procedures.
– Assembles, maintains, and properly stores equipment and supplies necessary for task completion in accordance with departmental standards.
– Collaborates and communicates with team members to ensure the continuity and coordination of services, reporting any general maintenance and specialized cleaning needs within the work area.
– Assists visitors and employees in navigating the hospital to reach their desired destinations.
– Fully functional within a specified cleaning area.
– May be required to work across departmental sites as needed for coverage and operational requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
– High School Diploma or equivalent.
– Experience in public service or customer service, particularly in hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial environments.
