Job description:
What You Will Do
All associates at Lowe’s are committed to providing exceptional customer service while ensuring that the store remains clean, safe, and well-stocked with the products that our customers require. As a Sales Floor Department Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
– Providing resources and tools to support team members in delivering outstanding service to customers.
– Assisting with down stocking and area recovery while contributing valuable insights into merchandising decisions.
– Monitoring the use of store power equipment and coaching employees on safe practices and lifting techniques.
The primary responsibility of the Sales Floor Department Supervisor is to lead and empower a team of associates in providing an exceptional customer experience within the store. This encompasses coaching and training associates, delegating tasks, following up on daily responsibilities, managing performance, and ensuring sufficient coverage within the department. The role entails both customer-facing activities—such as greeting customers, assessing their needs, identifying solutions, and closing sales—and non-customer-facing tasks, which include down stocking, inventory management, and area recovery. Additionally, it encompasses promoting store safety through conducting safety walks, reporting hazards, and understanding safety protocols and lifting directions.
The Sales Floor Department Supervisor collaborates closely with leadership to identify effective strategies and behaviors that achieve sales and service objectives, communicating these best practices to the team in a manner that fosters engaging, customer-oriented behaviors and the attainment of goals. Furthermore, this role requires supervision of associates in other departments, as needed, to address the evolving demands of the store. A broad product knowledge base and the capacity to engage both associates and customers across departments are essential. It is also crucial for this position to maintain open communication with management to keep them informed of concerns, issues, commendations, and morale within the team.
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, individuals in this position may occasionally open or close the store and serve as the manager-on-duty (MOD).
Travel Requirements: This position does not generally require regular travel; however, occasional travel may be necessary for meetings, training sessions, or to support neighboring stores/outlets.
What We’re Looking For
Hourly Full Time: Typically scheduled for 39 to 40 hours; additional hours may be required based on store needs.
– Availability must include mornings, afternoons, and evenings on any day of the week.
– Physical capability to perform tasks that may involve prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to complete job duties.
– Capability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds unaided; may lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance.
