Job description:

The primary focus of a Boyne Reservations Sales Agent is to engage in friendly and outgoing interactions with a diverse array of callers. This role requires exceptional attentiveness, strong listening skills, the ability to ask insightful questions, and effectively promote our resorts to golfers, families, and couples eager to experience the attractions our Michigan resorts have to offer.

Effective communication in this role embodies a distinctive style, as you will have the opportunity to narrate our story and vividly illustrate the vacation experiences awaiting our guests. A sense of lively enthusiasm is essential. Interactions should be upbeat and cheerful, necessitating a candidate who is warm, helpful, and approachable. This position is both fast-paced and detail-oriented, providing a dynamic work environment.

Given the demands of the hospitality industry, we operate seven days a week; however, flexible scheduling options are available. There is the potential for a four-day work week, consisting of ten-hour shifts, allowing for three consecutive days off.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Receiving travel requests for new reservations via telephone or email.
  • Promptly following up on guest inquiries to secure second chance bookings.
  • Demonstrating a strong ability to multi-task while maintaining a keen attention to detail.
  • Upholding a high standard of service for every caller by employing proper verbiage and maintaining appropriate phone etiquette.
  • Accurately quoting rates and having comprehensive knowledge of ongoing promotions and available discounts.
  • Maintaining up-to-date profiles for potential and current guests.
  • Utilizing computerized reservation systems to book hotel accommodations and issue confirmations.
  • Providing concierge services with a thorough understanding of Boyne Mountain, The Highlands, The Inn at Bay Harbor, and the surrounding area, including knowledge of restaurants, entertainment options, special events, and general directions.

Qualifications:
To succeed in this position, candidates should possess basic computer and internet skills. Proficiency in keyboarding is highly recommended, as simultaneous use of multiple software systems is a requirement. Familiarity with SpringerMiller, Marriott software, and/or SalesForce is preferred but not mandatory.

The starting pay rate is $18 per hour, with opportunities for overtime available. Candidates must be willing to travel to resort properties for training as needed. Positions are available in both Wixom and Petoskey.
