Position Summary

  • Department Manager: Responsible for overseeing the food service program at a single site, providing leadership and guidance to ensure compliance with food quality standards, inventory management, food safety protocols, and customer service expectations. This role requires adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as established policies to guarantee quality dining services.
  • Record Management: Maintain detailed records regarding income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment, and submit these reports to HCSG and facility management.
  • Training and Quality Control: Conduct ongoing training and quality assessments of staff to meet HCSG standards, including performing the roles of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher as necessary to ensure optimal staffing.
  • Communication and Customer Experience: Effectively convey directives from client managers and ensure positive interactions with all stakeholders, including residents and facility guests.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety procedures, proper use of cleaning solutions, maintenance of equipment, and fulfillment of infection control protocols.

Qualifications

  • A positive attitude and the ability to effectively follow instructions while performing routine tasks.
  • Completion of required training and the capability to lead responsibilities independently without supervision.
  • Preferred qualifications include an associate’s degree in food service management or hospitality, with specialized training in food service management and nutrition.
  • Mandatory completion of an approved Food Protection Manager course within the first 14 days of employment.
  • Certification as a Certified Dietary Manager is required, along with the successful completion of relevant certifications within the first two months of employment.
  • Previous experience in large-scale food production/service and personnel supervision is beneficial.
  • Basic computer skills for record maintenance and reporting are required.
  • Physical capabilities must include the ability to lift/carry and push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds and to perform tasks consistently throughout the workday.
  • Candidates must reside within the service area and comply with all COVID-19 vaccination mandates as required.
