Job description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be responsible for completing end-of-day activities, which include posting charges to accounts, conducting the night audit backup, and rolling over the date. This role involves processing various payment types such as room charges, cash, checks, debit, and credit. The individual will manage adjustment vouchers, paid-outs, correction vouchers, and miscellaneous charges, as well as print contingency lists to maintain a record of all guests for emergency preparedness.
The candidate will also sell accommodations to guests without reservations based on availability and operate the telephone switchboard station, processing requests for wake-up calls while informing guests of any messages. Additional responsibilities include completing the Room Rate Variance Report, processing guest check-ins, assigning rooms, and activating or reissuing room keys using an electronic key machine.
Furthermore, the individual will count and secure the bank at the end of their shift, balance receipts according to Accounting specifications, and ensure work areas are set up, stocked, and maintained. The candidate should inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all materials prior to use. Reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management is crucial, alongside adhering to company policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will ensure a clean and professional appearance and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information while protecting company assets. Welcoming and acknowledging all guests per company standards, anticipating and addressing guests’ service needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation are essential duties. Clear and professional communication, including appropriate telephone etiquette, is required. The individual will foster positive working relationships, support team efforts to achieve common goals, and comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
Physical requirements include the ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 25 pounds or less without assistance, as well as reaching overhead and below the knees, which involves bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. The candidate must be capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods or throughout an entire shift. Additional reasonable duties may be assigned by supervisors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
Related Work Experience: Less than one year of related work experience is preferred.
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is necessary.
License or Certification: None required.
