Job description:
GENERAL SUMMARY
- Provide exceptional customer service by offering administrative and clerical support to patients and clients within a medical environment.
- Welcome patients and visitors, manage check-in and check-out processes, and collect necessary documentation. Verify and accurately enter demographic information.
- Obtain and confirm insurance authorizations/pre-certifications. Process medical record release requests and effectively schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- Accurately enter, review, and submit charges for patient services and procedures on a daily basis. Collect co-payments and reconcile all daily reports and deposits to ensure accuracy.
- Offer general office and clerical support to the designated area.
Position Overview: Front Desk / Primarily Referrals
Location: 1096 Belsay Rd, Burton, Michigan
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday – 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM; Wednesday – 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM; Friday – 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with primary care provider and specialist referrals, appointment scheduling, and the process of obtaining prior authorizations for diagnostic testing.
Experience Requirement: A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent OR a minimum of one year of applicable, cumulative job-specific experience is required.
- Note: Relevant professional licensure/certification may be considered as a substitute for education or experience when applicable.
