Position Summary:
As a Houseperson, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of all public areas within the hotel. You will be responsible for laundering all linen and terry products, assisting with guestroom maintenance requests, and providing support to the Housekeeping team. Your efforts will contribute to upholding 6PM Hospitality’s Core Values and Hilton standards, with a commitment to exceeding guest expectations and ensuring total satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
- Arrive at work in a professional, neat, and clean uniform.
- Greet guests warmly and positively, fostering personal connections to make them feel valued and welcome.
- Anticipate and meet guests’ needs, striving to go above and beyond their expectations.
- Maintain cleanliness in public areas, including restrooms and the fitness room, in accordance with 6PM Hospitality and Hilton standards.
- Perform cleaning tasks such as mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and removing debris from floors, stairwells, and elevators.
- Empty garbage cans throughout the hotel, including lobby, restrooms, bar, coffee shop, back of house, and exterior.
- Wipe down tables and chairs in the restaurant area.
- Respond promptly to accidents or spills and clean public areas upon request.
- Return room service trays to the break room.
- Transport dirty laundry to the laundry room.
- Restock supply closets before the end of your shift.
- Communicate with the front desk regarding cleaned areas available for guest requests.
- Wash all laundry according to manufacturer instructions, monitoring for stains, damage, and wear, and handle accordingly.
- Dry and fold laundry, ensuring proper storage in designated areas.
- Ensure a sufficient supply of linens is prepared for the next day’s housekeeping shift.
- Keep the laundry room and storage areas well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Regularly clean laundry machines, dust, mop, and maintain cleanliness in the laundry area.
- Deliver items to guest rooms as requested by the front desk and assist with cleaning late checkout rooms as needed.
- Replace light bulbs and respond timely to guest complaints or issues.
- Assist guests with luggage upon request.
- Maintain compliance with all operational standards set by 6PM Hospitality and Hilton.
- Ensure organization within all storage rooms.
- Uphold a positive attitude throughout your shift, contributing to a high Team Member morale.
- Follow all 6PM Hospitality Processes and demonstrate reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Knowledge:
- Ability to interpret and extract information and perform basic arithmetic functions.
- Basic computer knowledge may be required for record keeping or word processing tasks.
- Good communication skills are essential.
Formal Education and Job-Related Experience:
- A minimum of one year of related experience is preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Regular exposure to stressful situations may occur.
- Ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads based on business demands is necessary.
- Manual skills are required for a portion of daily tasks, which may involve typing, handwriting, or operating machinery.
- Daily responsibilities will involve prolonged standing, moving materials or equipment, and lifting/carrying items over 30 pounds intermittently.
