This role is positioned at the Plant 3, Whitehall Casting Operation.

Job Responsibilities
The Manufacturing Manager occupies a staff-level position, tasked with providing leadership in manufacturing excellence, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving continuous improvement in plant performance metrics including quality, productivity, cycle time, delivery, and cash flow.
– Ensure compliance with safety regulations and departmental safety requirements.
– Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
– Evaluate production value added by department.
– Set daily shipment targets.
– Manage profit and revenue metrics.
– Promote a clean and safe work environment for all employees.
– Enhance manufacturing planning, execution, and discipline on the shop floor.
– Lead Plant ABS and lean manufacturing initiatives.
– Identify and eliminate non-value-added waste.
– Optimize product flow or implement improvements to reduce labor content.
– Foster the professional and personal development of team leaders, cell facilitators, supervisors, and other manufacturing support personnel.
– Address safety issues or non-compliance without delay.
– Encourage reporting of Injury Free Events (IFE).
– Oversee department budgets ensuring accountability.
– Maintain effective communication and relationships with Howmet customers.
– Collaborate with the plant manager and staff to develop budgets, strategic plans, team goals, and objectives aligned with business unit objectives.
– Cascade goals and objectives throughout the organization.
– Contribute to location-specific and corporate teams as necessary.
– Ensure excellent delivery performance.
– Conduct capacity analysis to drive standard work and ensure accuracy.
– Drive cost reductions to enhance profitability.
– Utilize lean manufacturing tools to minimize Work In Progress (WIP) and cycle times.
– Communicate relevant information effectively to staff, customers, and management.
– Understand and apply techniques for constraint management and OEE improvement.
– Lead efforts to implement continuous improvement methodologies and ideas.
– Consult with engineering personnel regarding process modifications to enhance production and product quality.
– Provide guidance in safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
– High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment, including at least 7 years in a leadership role; or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of manufacturing experience, including 7 years of leadership experience.
– Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree.
– Experience in the investment casting industry is advantageous.
– Strong leadership capabilities that foster an engaged employee environment.
– Proven ability to drive improvements through the application of lean manufacturing principles, total quality practices, and Six Sigma methodologies.
– Solid technical understanding of manufacturing processes.
– Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and negotiation skills.
– Strong financial acumen.
– Experience with tooling, molds, and dies related to Investment Casting, Injection Molding, or the Stamping Industries is preferred.
