Job description:
The Night Auditor is tasked with the preparation and completion of all Night Audit responsibilities, serving as the primary contact at the front desk during the overnight shift, typically from 11 PM to 7 AM. Key responsibilities include registering guests, managing reservations, generating daily reports, balancing transactions, and conducting security walks.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in the hotel industry or a related field is required.
- High School diploma or an equivalent qualification is necessary.
- Completion of college coursework in a related field is advantageous.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential.

Responsibilities:
- Approach all interactions with guests and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Maintain consistent attendance as required by the variable scheduling needs of the hotel, in line with Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
- Adhere to high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including the proper uniform and name tag.
- Comply with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Foster a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
- Initiate and complete the End of Day process.
- Generate all required reports for the Food and Beverage audit.
- Complete the Night Audit checklist for computer procedures on a daily basis.
- Balance the day’s transactions, including but not limited to movie revenue, telephone postings, valet, laundry, and paperwork for servers and desk agents.
- Uphold cashiering responsibilities in accordance with Front Office procedures and Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
- Ensure the operation of the Front Office computer system conforms to Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
- Execute all Front Office functions between the hours of 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM.
- Ensure that periodic checks by the Midnight House Attendant of building and guest corridors are conducted for security.
- Address and follow up on all guest requests during the overnight shift.
- Adhere to safety and emergency procedures as outlined by Aimbridge Hospitality.
- Maintain accurate record keeping, such as log books, in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
- Familiarize yourself with all Aimbridge Hospitality policies and house rules.
- Complete initial direct bills daily, placing them on the Property Accountant’s desk, and attach all related folio/banquet check documentation.
- Maintain radio communication with other associates throughout the shift.
- Acquire a working knowledge of security procedures.
- Ensure associates consistently exhibit attentiveness, friendliness, helpfulness, and courtesy towards all guests, managers, and fellow associates.
- Prepare and distribute the Daily Flash Report as needed.
- Transfer master or house accounts as required.
- Distribute work including revenue printouts, charge and paid folios, vouchers, and checks according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Train new Night Auditors as requested by management.
- Generate morning reports in accordance with Aimbridge Hospitality procedures.
- Assign and oversee the delivery of daily newspapers and handle Express Check-Outs.
- Confirm that nightly walk-throughs include the removal of all room service trays and the organization of the pool and Jacuzzi area, where applicable.
- Manage lost and found items according to established standards.
- Complete reports as requested by management in a timely manner.
- Address miscellaneous duties as required, such as resetting Food and Beverage P.O.S. systems and preparing daily revenue summaries.
- Assist guests with food orders and serve food and beverage items promptly and professionally when applicable; demonstrate suggestive selling techniques and maintain a clean, organized environment.
- Attend meetings as required by management.
- Execute any additional duties as assigned by the Guest Services Manager or other management personnel.
