Position Summary:
– Cook: Prepare and serve food, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, in accordance with facility menus and applicable standards, guidelines, and regulations. Ensure quality dining services as directed by the Dining Services Director, while assisting in proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning procedures. In the absence of the Dining Services Director, provide support to the Dietary Aide as necessary and supervise other employees with approval.
– Safety: Utilize protective gear in all relevant tasks and ensure adherence to safety protocols when mixing and using cleaning solutions. Report any equipment or cleaning product needs to the supervisor promptly and maintain compliance with established safety and quality guidelines. Follow infection control procedures to maintain a sanitary environment, including proper reporting, isolation, and handwashing techniques.
– Punctuality: Exhibit consistent attendance and punctuality, completing assigned tasks according to schedule and responding promptly to paging systems.
– Customer Experience: Uphold a positive representation of HCSG by following instructions and cooperating courteously with supervisors, co-workers, and client staff.
– Resident Experience: Maintain positive interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests, ensuring a pleasant atmosphere.
Qualifications:
– Demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to follow oral and written instructions, performing routine, repetitive tasks daily.
– After completing training, utilize leadership skills to fulfill responsibilities independently while ensuring safety.
– A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with experience in food preparation being advantageous. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
– Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is necessary based on state or county law.
– Must demonstrate reliability by adhering to the scheduled work times.
– Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies, where required by state, local, or customer mandates.
– Capability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds, as well as push or pull similar loads, and endure extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and sitting.
– Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously and work around food and cleaning products.
– Residence within the service area is required.
