Pay Range: $18.00 – $20.00 / hour

Position Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, stocking, shipping, ordering, and counting inventory items. This entry-level position involves the safe operation of a forklift to stock various lumber and building materials while adhering to established safety and operational procedures.

Essential Job Duties

  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Foster a positive work environment.
  • Support warehouse associates and the direct supervisor in maintaining an organized workspace, which may include emptying trash and ensuring cleanliness in all bays and staging areas.
  • Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Accurately count and record the receipt of materials.
  • Stock received materials in appropriate bins or storage areas.
  • Assist inventory control in counting and organizing warehouse materials.
  • Adhere to all company policies and guidelines.
  • Operate a forklift utilizing foot and hand controls.
  • Utilize the forklift to build outgoing orders or load completed orders onto delivery equipment as needed.
  • Operate facility equipment, such as banders and various hand tools, as required.
  • Monitor inventory levels as specified by location management.
  • Maintain awareness of the work environment to ensure accurate and damage-free results.
  • Participate in and complete assigned training programs.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum educational requirement: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • No prior experience is necessary; training will be provided.
  • Proficient in basic math, reading orders, writing instructions, and completing forms.
  • Willingness to learn how to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, colleagues, and supervisors, both verbally and in writing.
  • Capacity to constructively address conflicts and recognize potential issues.
  • Proficiency with, or willingness to learn, current technologies (e.g., smartphones, inventory control systems, and other relevant business applications).
  • Physical demands may include standing and walking for extended periods, exposure to extreme temperatures, bending, stooping, and regularly lifting up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting of 100 pounds or more.
