Position Summary
- Cook: Responsible for preparing and serving food, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, in adherence to facility menus, federal, state, and local standards. You will assist in ensuring proper receiving, storage, preparation, sanitation, and cleaning procedures are followed. In the absence of the Dining Services Director, you may also support the Dietary Aide and direct other employees, with prior approval.
- Safety: Utilization of protective gear as required. You will ensure the safe mixing and handling of cleaning solutions, report equipment or product needs to supervisors promptly, and maintain established safety and quality standards.
- Punctuality: Consistent attendance and timely completion of assigned tasks are essential.
- Customer Experience: You will represent HCSG positively by following instructions and maintaining courteous interactions with supervisors, coworkers, and client staff.
- Resident Experience: Engage in positive interactions with residents, staff, and guests.
Qualifications
- Exhibit a positive attitude with the capability to follow instructions and perform routine tasks consistently.
- After appropriate training, demonstrate leadership skills to fulfill responsibilities independently and safely.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with experience in food preparation. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
- Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is mandatory as per state or county law.
- Punctuality and reliability in attendance are essential.
- Willingness to comply with COVID-19 vaccination policies as mandated.
- Physical ability to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, and stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Must have the capacity to perform repetitive tasks continuously and work around food and cleaning products.
- Residency within the service area is required.
