In this role, you will be entrusted with planning and leading daily programs and special events that significantly enhance the lifestyle of our residents and promote the positive aspects of living within a Senior Lifestyle Community.

We are looking for candidates who:

– Can independently and confidently manage daily community programs
– Are adept at pivoting in response to sudden changes, such as event cancellations or unforeseen interruptions
– Can cultivate and maintain partnerships within the wider community to enrich the lives of our residents

This role reports to the Executive Director and may involve supervising other staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

– Cultivate a lively work environment focused on celebrating the lives of our residents
– Plan and lead engaging daily programs within the community
– Create opportunities for team members from various departments to develop and facilitate programs
– Organize and implement special events for residents in collaboration with the sales and marketing teams
– Recognize and honor the individuality, diversity, and spirituality of all residents in program planning and event organization
– Build rapport with residents to encourage their participation in community activities and events
– Understand and promote the SLC wellness model by providing programming across seven key wellness areas: physical, social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, vocational, and environmental
– Create and distribute a monthly events calendar and newsletter that adheres to SLC program and branding standards by the beginning of each month
– Organize and guide outings beyond the community to foster residents’ connections to the broader community
– Develop and strengthen partnerships both within and outside the community to enhance programming and event offerings
– Actively promote the lifestyle at the community through a robust social media presence and effective collaboration with the sales and marketing departments
– Oversee the resident ambassador program
– Assist in the setup of seasonal and holiday décor for the community
– Ensure that program flyers, bulletin boards, and digital signage are current and meet SLC and brand standards
– Conduct work in a manner that respects each resident’s dignity, privacy, and confidentiality
– Lead the hiring, training, development, and mentorship of departmental staff in alignment with Senior Lifestyle Corporation Human Resources guidelines
– Secure and manage all departmental equipment and supplies
– Oversee the department’s budget and expenditures
– Document and maintain required records for effective department management

Qualifications:

– Education: A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience
– Experience: Entry-level (0-3+ years) with a background in leading small or large group events
– Language: Effective fluency in English to perform job responsibilities and communicate with all stakeholders
– Technical Skills: Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, online learning platforms, and social media
