As an Assistant Store Manager at Family Dollar, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service to our customers. A primary responsibility will be to assist the Store Manager with the daily operations of the store. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, you will also oversee inventory management, maintain the store’s appearance, and complete essential paperwork daily.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
– Greet and assist customers in a friendly and approachable manner, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns promptly.
– Maintain a strong presence in the store by consistently delivering excellent customer service.
– Ensure the store is clean, well-stocked, and welcoming for customers.
– Under the guidance of the Store Manager, supervise, train, and develop store associates in accordance with Family Dollar operating practices and procedures.
– Assist in the unloading of merchandise from delivery vehicles, organize stock, and transfer products from the stockroom to the sales floor.
– Aid the Store Manager with inventory ordering and maintain accurate records including payroll, scheduling, and cash register transactions.
– Support the Store Manager in implementing loss prevention strategies.
– Assume certain managerial responsibilities in the Store Manager’s absence.
– Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:
– Education: Preferably completed high school or equivalent. Ability to read, interpret, and articulate operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics, etc.).
– Experience: Preferred background in retail management within grocery or drug store environments.
– Physical Requirements: Must be capable of regularly lifting up to 40 lbs. and occasionally lifting up to 55 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height. Must be able to meet the physical demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
– Availability: Flexible, full-time schedule availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
