AI Pay Analysis: To accurately assess the competitiveness of the hourly rate for the “Dialysis Clinical Technician” role in Eastpointe, MI, one would need specific details about the offered pay. However, as of my last knowledge update, the average hourly wage for dialysis technicians in the United States typically ranges from $15 to $25 per hour, depending on factors such as experience, certifications, and increasing demand in the healthcare sector. In Michigan, the rates often align closely with this average, so a rate within this range could be considered competitive, particularly if it includes benefits and opportunities for advancement. Job description:

We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Dialysis Technician to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in patient care and demonstrate a genuine passion for assisting individuals with kidney disease. As a Clinical Dialysis Technician, you will be instrumental in delivering dialysis treatments and ensuring the well-being of our patients.

This position is based at 21400 Kelly Road, Eastpointe, MI 48021, and is full-time.

Department Overview:
Eastpointe Home Dialysis operates as an integral part of an outpatient dialysis facility that oversees both peritoneal and home dialysis patients, managing a census of 15 PD and 2 HHD patients. Our unit is staffed with full-time nephrologists and includes both full-time and part-time home nurses and dialysis technicians. Our team manages 17 patients who are monitored through connected health systems from Baxter and NxStage. Patients receive training to perform dialysis treatments at home within our clinic, with PD training lasting 7-10 days and HHD training 4-6 weeks. The home team organizes monthly clinic visits for all home patients, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team and conducting lab draws for PD patients. Furthermore, we provide patient education and facilitate referrals to transplant services as requested.

The unit generally operates Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with some flexibility according to clinic needs. Home nurses share on-call duties during evenings and weekends, though the clinic is typically closed on most weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer dialysis treatments in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
  • Monitor patients throughout the dialysis process, assessing vital signs and responding to any changes in their condition.
  • Set up and operate dialysis machines, undertaking routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues when necessary.
  • Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed by the physician.
  • Educate patients and their families on dialysis procedures, dietary restrictions, and self-care techniques.
  • Maintain precise and comprehensive medical records, documenting treatment activities and patient progress.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards within the dialysis unit.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and pursue continuing education to enhance professional skills and knowledge.

This description delineates the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities associated with this role and is not intended to encompass every task or duty that may be assigned. Employees may be requested to undertake additional job-related responsibilities beyond those explicitly mentioned.
