Job description:

Under general supervision, the Patient Access Representative I is responsible for executing tasks associated with designated assignments within the organization. Key responsibilities include registration, financial clearance, insurance verification, cashier duties, and other tasks as determined by Revenue Cycle Management. The Patient Access Representative I is expected to complete these duties in compliance with established quality and productivity standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and promptly complete all assigned tasks and responsibilities pertinent to the Patient Access Representative I role.
  • Respond to all customer inquiries and needs in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with all members of the McLaren Health Care team.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of six months of experience in Patient Access, Medical Billing, or Customer Service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word; adept with Windows-based applications and 10-key calculators.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Health Care, Finance, or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Certification in medical billing, coding, or a related job-specific certification.
  • Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding, along with one year of experience in Revenue Cycle.
