Job description:
Job Purpose: To perform a combination of duties related primarily to the check-in and check-out processes for guests in a manner that is pleasant, professional, and efficient, thereby contributing to an overall positive guest experience.
Job Responsibilities:
* Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests. Issue room keys and escort instructions to the Bell person or directly to guests, ensuring room numbers are not announced.
– Address inquiries regarding hotel services, guest registration, and information on shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
– Maintain accurate records of room availability and guest accounts, and assist in making, confirming, and canceling reservations as needed.
– Calculate bills, collect payments, and provide change for guests. Post additional charges, such as for room, food, beverages, or telephone services, either manually or electronically.
– Date-stamp, sort, and organize incoming mail and messages. Transmit and receive messages via telephone, fax, and switchboard.
– Understand and enforce hotel credit policies, ensuring all cash is accounted for and deposited according to hotel and company standards.
– Proactively greet guests in a warm and friendly manner.
– If assigned in a lead capacity: (a) supervise and take responsibility for assigned employees in the supervisor’s absence, (b) assign tasks and ensure proper performance of those duties.
– Facilitate restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservations for guests; secure guests’ valuables in the hotel safe or safe-deposit box; and arrange for complimentary flowers or champagne for special occasions when appropriate.
