Job description:

We are seeking a professional and courteous Guest Service Representative/Front Desk Clerk to greet and welcome guests to our hotel. This role involves managing the check-in and check-out processes while accommodating special requests and adhering to established procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and promptly, utilizing a clear speaking voice while actively listening to their requests, responding appropriately, and providing accurate information regarding hotel amenities and local attractions.
  • Verify and process credit card authorizations through electronic methods, handle cash transactions, provide change, and maintain a balanced house bank. Accept and record various forms of payment, and perform moderate arithmetic tasks using a calculator.
  • Complete the registration process by entering and retrieving guest information from the computer system, confirming details such as the number of guests and room rates. Promote all marketing initiatives and select rooms that align with guest preferences while coding electronic keys.
  • Provide guests with welcome folders containing room keys, certificates, coupons, and information about local attractions.
  • Answer phone calls promptly using a formal greeting. Document messages and communicate pertinent details to guests. Retrieve mail, small packages, and faxes for guests as requested while ensuring all correspondence remains confidential.
  • Close guest accounts at check-out time and inquire about their satisfaction. In cases of dissatisfaction, contact management immediately.
  • Address issues such as room changes, additional amenities, or credit discrepancies. Document guest feedback or complaints and strive to resolve any issues, including pricing conflicts or climate control concerns.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
