Position Summary
- Cook: Responsible for preparing and serving food, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, consistent with facility menus and current applicable federal, state, and local standards, as well as established policies and procedures. In the absence of the Dining Services Director, the Cook may assist dietary aides and direct other employees with proper approvals.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols, including the safe handling and use of cleaning solutions, while promptly reporting equipment or cleaning product needs to a supervisor. Ensure compliance with established standards, safety guidelines, and infection control protocols at all times.
- Punctuality: Maintain consistent attendance and punctual arrivals, completing assigned duties according to schedule and responding to paging systems promptly.
- Customer Experience: Represent HCSG positively by following instructions and demonstrating courtesy towards supervisors, co-workers, and client staff.
- Resident Experience: Interact with residents, staff, and facility guests in a positive and tactful manner.
Qualifications
- Exhibit a positive attitude, with the ability to follow both oral and written instructions, and perform routine tasks consistently.
- After completing required training, demonstrate leadership skills to fulfill responsibilities independently and safely.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with prior experience in food preparation being advantageous. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
- Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is mandatory based on state or county regulations.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies, as mandated by state, local, and/or customer regulations, is required.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously and work around food and cleaning products is necessary.
- Residency within the service area is required.
