Job Description
Job Title: Cook
Company: Upshift
Location: Detroit, MI
Pay: $15 – 20 per hour
AI Pay Analysis: An hourly rate of $15 – $20 for a Cook in Detroit, MI, is generally considered below the market average, especially in light of rising living costs and competitive labor conditions. According to various wage data sources, the average pay for cooks in the Detroit area typically ranges between $16 to $24 per hour, depending on experience, specialty, and type of establishment. Additionally, factors such as the current labor shortage in the hospitality sector and the push for higher minimum wages may further drive expectations for competitive pay. Therefore, while the offered rate may attract entry-level applicants, it may struggle to retain experienced cooks or attract talent in a market that increasingly values higher compensation.
