Job description:
The Human Resources Assistant position is a non-supervisory role dedicated to organizing and facilitating various office management functions across the major divisions of the department. This class includes Human Resources Assistants at levels I-IV, each with distinct responsibilities. Human Resources Assistants lead and perform general office support tasks within the domains of Employee Services, Classification & Compensation, Human Resource Management, Human Resource Information Systems, Labor Relations, Policy & Planning, Operations, Recruiting and Talent Development, and Performance Management. The position necessitates a solid understanding of procedures, techniques, and practices essential for executing organizational tasks within established guidelines, as well as proficiency in office technology including fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, videoconferencing systems, and telecommunication devices, alongside the capability to create and edit documentation.

The roles within the Human Resources Assistant classification are designed to enhance the overall efficiency of the department by performing a multitude of office support duties. These duties encompass serving as the principal clerical and administrative support within the Human Resources unit for which the assistants operate. Responsibilities encompass coordinating clerical tasks and daily administrative operations essential for fulfilling the organization’s objectives.
