Position Summary

  • Cook: Responsible for preparing and serving food, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, in accordance with facility menus and applicable federal, state, and local standards. You will assist in ensuring proper procedures for receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning are consistently followed. In the absence of the Dining Services Director, you will support Dietary Aides and provide direction to other employees as necessary.
  • Safety: Adhere to safety protocols by utilizing protective gear, ensuring the proper use and mixing of cleaning solutions, and reporting any equipment or product needs immediately. Follow established safety and quality guidelines and infection control policies to maintain a sanitary environment.
  • Punctuality: Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality, completing assigned tasks promptly and responding to the paging system as required.
  • Customer Experience: Represent HCSG positively through courteous interactions and cooperation with supervisors, coworkers, and client staff.
  • Resident Experience: Engage with residents, staff, and facility guests in a positive and respectful manner.

Qualifications

  • Maintain a positive attitude and ability to follow both oral and written instructions while performing routine, repetitive daily tasks.
  • After completing relevant training, utilize leadership skills to fulfill responsibilities autonomously and safely.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with experience in food preparation. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
  • Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is required, in accordance with state and county regulations.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies as required by state, local, and customer guidelines.
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds, push or pull up to 50 pounds, and stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to perform routine, repetitive tasks consistently.
  • Ability to work in proximity to food and cleaning products.
  • Residency in the service area is required.
