As a team member, your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating an inviting atmosphere for customers, ensuring they feel valued and appreciated by answering inquiries about products in your department and throughout the store.
  • Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of products available within your department to assist customers effectively with their questions and make informed suggestions.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to promote teamwork and achieve company and store objectives.
  • Preparing beverage selections according to standard recipes and customer requests, while processing transactions in line with company best practices.
  • Offering product samples to help customers discover new items and inform them of current coffee shop specials.
  • Providing customers with fresh products that they have ordered, ensuring the correct portion sizes to minimize waste.
  • Recommending coffee shop items that meet customer needs and preferences.
  • Utilizing all coffee shop equipment, such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens, according to company guidelines; preparing, packaging, labeling, and managing inventory of ingredients.
  • Conducting quality checks on products to ensure freshness, monitoring sell-by dates, and taking appropriate action when necessary.
  • Properly operating kitchen equipment, including the espresso machine, blender, computerized scale, and steamer.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
  • Reporting any discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
  • Staying informed about current and upcoming seasonal promotions and special offers.
  • Supporting safety initiatives by complying with safety protocols, identifying unsafe conditions, and reporting these to store management; adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Practicing preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of any repair needs.
  • Reporting customer or employee accidents and notifying management of safety risks, incidents, or illegal activities, including theft or fraud.
