Job description:
Performs the role of manager-on-duty during the third shift, ensuring effective supervision and operations. Anticipates and responds to guests with friendliness and positivity, maintaining the highest standards of service. Responsible for processing check-ins and check-outs, verifying billing, creating reservations, and accommodating special requests.
Assists guests by leveraging knowledge of the hotel property, local attractions, and the operational hours of hotel outlets and services. Possesses the ability to work independently or collaboratively to meet guest needs, while actively contributing to the efforts of other departments as necessary. Understands and adheres to CSM’s guest service recovery program, ensuring all guest concerns are addressed efficiently.
Accountable for accurately balancing all revenue sources and completing daily financial reports, including processing no-show reservations and preparing financial summaries for managerial review. Closes the financial day for the hotel, utilizing proper selling techniques and strategies to maximize room revenue, while monitoring room availability and following all booking policies and procedures.
Drives sales and maximizes revenue through effective up-selling of rooms and amenities. Complies with CSM procedures for cash handling and financial transactions. Responsible for the proper use of all equipment and adheres to cost control measures to reduce expenses and waste, ensuring a high level of operational efficiency.
Demonstrates effective planning, organization, and prioritization of work duties to produce the required volume of tasks. Upon completing financial responsibilities, undertakes assigned projects, stocks supplies, and provides assistance to other overnight staff as needed. Practices adherence to CSM’s general work rules and departmental procedures, attending all mandatory department and hotel meetings.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment in compliance with CSM standards, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. Follows all CSM protocols for guest and associate incidents and possesses knowledge of hotel emergency procedures.
Competencies/Skills Required: A minimum of 2 years of guest service experience is required, preferably within a hospitality context. Prior experience in night audit or accounting is preferred. Strong computer skills and effective communication abilities are essential. Attention to detail, a customer-focused approach, and adaptability to a fast-paced environment are necessary.
Education: A high school diploma or GED is required.
Physical Requirements: The ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis is required.
