Job description:
Creates and updates content for both content-managed and static HTML websites, developing new themes and enhancing existing ones. Provides training on WordPress and other content management systems, while compiling data into reports for analysis. Ensures all websites adhere to the Yale Web Accessibility Policy through training and mentoring on web and document accessibility. Conducts thorough testing and quality assurance for new and existing web content.
Delivers training and mentorship on email design and analytics best practices, designing and modifying responsive and accessible email templates for various units and programs within a school or large department. This includes proficient use of multiple coding syntaxes to accommodate a wide range of email clients and browsers across different devices.
Mentors graduate professional students in the development of personal websites to effectively showcase their work. Prepares production photography and graphics for electronic distribution, creating original graphics and online animated advertisements as necessary, while maintaining artistic integrity in accordance with branding guidelines and creative vision. Responsible for ensuring brand consistency across various browsers and operating systems.
Assists with event and classroom setups and may undertake additional duties as assigned.
Candidates should possess a minimum of eight years of related work experience, including six years in the same job family at the next lower level, or six years of experience combined with an Associate’s degree, four years with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or two years with a Master’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent blend of experience and education. Demonstrated experience in theming and styling content-managed sites is essential, as well as proven skills in managing the coding, deployment, and analysis of marketing emails.
This position requires flexibility regarding physical demands, including the ability to work at a computer for extended periods. All candidates must undergo pre-employment background screening that may include motor vehicle checks, DOT certification, drug testing, and credit checks.
