Job description:

Evaluates, installs, develops, and configures barcode scanning hardware and software to integrate seamlessly with the ERP and EDI systems for manufacturing floor production and inventory control databases. Develops effective processes for supply chain management, facilitating the flow of goods through receiving, production, inventory, and shipping. Provides support for end-users and system infrastructures across manufacturing sites. Responsible for all administration tasks on the IBM I (AS400), which includes installing new software as well as performing operating system fixes and upgrades. Develops and maintains comprehensive disaster recovery systems to ensure the company’s ongoing viability in the event of unforeseen disruptions.

Duties

  • Install, maintain, and support scanning hardware and software across TRAM group manufacturing sites.
  • Create labels in accordance with manufacturing drawing specifications.
  • Install, maintain, and support label printing hardware and software for TRAM group manufacturing sites.
  • Maintain and support RFID equipment utilized at TRAM group manufacturing sites.
  • Create, maintain, and support SQL statements and queries to facilitate the analysis of scanned data for TRAM group manufacturing sites.
  • Document systems and processes, providing training to users as required.
  • Administer the IBM I (AS400) system.
  • Install software, updates, and operating system upgrades on the IBM I (AS400).
  • Maintain and test the disaster recovery systems.
  • Design, develop, and maintain RPGLE programs to support supply chain management processes and customer requirements.
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn new ERP solutions within a MS SQL environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of IT experience.
  • Over 5 years of experience with scanning hardware and software as well as label creation software.
  • Relevant experience with IBM i (AS/400, iSeries) administration is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in installing and maintaining software within a Windows environment.
  • Familiarity with MS SQL for report writing is required.
  • Experience with label printing software, such as Bartender, is a plus.
  • Experience with PLEX ERP is also beneficial.
