Position Summary
- Kitchen Helper / Dietary Aide: Assist the Cook in meal preparation and service, ensuring adherence to established policies while placing prepared food on plates/trays based on tray tickets. Responsibilities also include food delivery, dishwashing, and maintaining a clean and sanitized kitchen environment in compliance with health standards.
- Safety Considerations: Utilize protective gear as required and mix cleaning solutions safely, reporting any equipment or cleaning product concerns to a supervisor in a timely manner. Adhere to established safety protocols, infection control policies, and universal precautions to maintain sanitary conditions.
- Punctuality: Exhibit consistent attendance and timeliness, completing designated cleaning tasks as scheduled. Respond promptly to paging system alerts.
- Customer Experience: Represent HCSG positively by demonstrating courtesy and cooperation when interacting with supervisors, co-workers, and client staff.
- Resident Experience: Engage in positive, pleasant interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to follow both oral and written directions, performing routine, repetitive tasks daily.
- After completing requisite training, utilize leadership skills to independently manage responsibilities without incident.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; specialized training in food service is advantageous. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
- Current ServSafe certification is mandated by state/county law.
- A Food Handler’s card is required.
- Must adhere to scheduled work hours and be punctual.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies is required as per state, local, and customer regulations.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds, push/pull up to 50 pounds, and engage in prolonged standing, sitting, bending, and walking.
- Must be capable of performing routine, repetitive tasks continuously and working with food and cleaning products.
- Residency within the service area is required.
