Job description:
This position is designed to provide support to the Store Director while fostering skills in the management of all store operations. Under the guidance of the Store Director, responsibilities will include ensuring that all departments are fully staffed, adequately trained, and functioning efficiently. The role involves maintaining store profitability through diligent monitoring of financial aspects related to purchasing, stocking, selling, payroll, and other operational expenses and income. Additionally, the position requires the maintenance of the physical store environment, including equipment, sanitation standards, safety protocols, and overall appearance while effectively communicating and executing corporate strategies. All other assigned duties must be completed promptly.

Key Responsibilities:
– Conduct regular inspections of all store areas and provide constructive feedback to department managers.
– Review analytical reports, take necessary actions, and communicate relevant information as necessary.
– Participate in financial planning activities, including budgeting, staffing/payroll management, and facility maintenance and upgrades.
– Collaborate and communicate effectively with SpartanNash personnel.
– Facilitate training for others in performing all departmental activities and functions.
– Oversee the selection, scheduling, and supervision of team members.
– Extend prompt and courteous service to all customers.
– Maintain a clean, inviting, and customer-friendly environment within the department.
– Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of all products, including variations in price, taste, preparation, and usage.
– Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
– A Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
– A minimum of three years of experience in a retail grocery environment with progressive responsibility.
– At least one year of supervisory or leadership experience, preferably within a retail setting.
– Proficiency in computer applications, including email and spreadsheets.
– Strong reading, writing, comprehension, and interpretation skills for various documents.
– Proficiency in accounting and bookkeeping practices.
