Job description:

Picks up and delivers various documents, mail, packages, lab specimens, equipment, materials, supplies, and other items within the organization and to institutional clients. Ensures timely, safe, and accurate delivery while demonstrating flexibility, reliability, and strong organizational skills. Must be able to operate vehicles in all weather and driving conditions.

Essential Functions

  • Safely picks up and delivers various documents, mail, packages, lab specimens, equipment, materials, supplies, and other items from designated locations in a timely manner.
  • Adheres to all traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and training. Represents Corewell Health with professionalism, embodying our core values of compassion, collaboration, courage, and curiosity.
  • Follows established protocols and procedures for accident and incident occurrences. Consults guidebooks outlined in each vehicle and promptly notifies leadership of any incidents.
  • Interacts with clients in a professional manner, providing exceptional customer service and escalating client service concerns to the supervisor as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining and completing daily logs.
  • Ensures vehicle readiness for subsequent routes by refueling and returning keys and equipment to the designated area. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the vehicle, preparing it for the next driver, and reports any repair needs to the supervisor.
  • Utilizes technology effectively to enhance service delivery. Responds to urgent dispatch requests according to business and customer needs.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess an excellent driving record.
  • Valid Chauffeur License from the State of Michigan required upon hire.
  • Valid Driver’s License from the State of Michigan required upon hire.
