Job Description
Job Title: Cook
Company: Courtyard
Location: Portage, MI
Pay: $16 per hour
AI Pay Analysis: As of October 2023, an hourly rate of $16 for a Cook in Portage, MI, is generally considered on the lower end of the spectrum when compared to industry standards. While starting salaries for entry-level cooks can range from $12 to $16 per hour, more experienced cooks typically earn between $16 to $22 per hour, depending on the establishment and specific responsibilities. Portage, being part of the Kalamazoo metropolitan area, also reflects a cost of living that may necessitate higher wages to attract and retain talent. Therefore, while $16 an hour might be acceptable for entry-level positions, it may not be competitive enough for experienced cooks or those with specialized skills, which could potentially affect recruitment and employee retention.
