Assisted Self Check Out

  • Demonstrate competency in monitoring and identifying customers requiring assistance across multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously.
  • Proactively approach and interact with customers to recommend products and services.
  • Engage with multiple customers at various registers, providing assistance and ensuring a smooth shopping experience.
  • Navigate the checkout area effectively, performing tasks such as standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving products to ensure transactions are completed accurately.
  • Express gratitude to customers for their business and encourage their return visits to Lowe’s.

Customer Service

  • Deliver exemplary SMART customer service consistently, adhering to Lowe’s policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Actively seek out customer needs and assist in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise.
  • Provide knowledgeable and prompt responses to customer and employee inquiries by guiding them through the store and assisting with projects as needed.
  • Demonstrate genuine appreciation for customers during all interactions.
  • Communicate relevant information regarding stock, special order merchandise, features and benefits, application, and warranty information related to Lowe’s programs.
  • Mentor, develop, and provide feedback and training to associates in various departmental responsibilities and sales opportunities.
  • Utilize a cash register to accurately process sales transactions, returns, and refunds, in compliance with company guidelines.
  • Supply appropriate monetary change to CSA Front End associates for register tasks.
  • Offer supervision, coaching, and support to the CSA Front End Team (Front End/Loaders).

  • Handle incoming phone calls, directing calls or taking messages as necessary.
  • Open additional registers as required to ensure adequate coverage at all times.

  • Prepare the register area at the start and end of shifts by ensuring the functionality of registers and scanners, as well as stocking necessary supplies.

Clean and Safe Stores

  • Obtain safety bags from the cash office and monitor cash drawer limits to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Monitor merchandise entering and exiting the store, assisting customers or associates when alarms are triggered.
  • Recognize common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security threats, promptly communicating these to management and/or Asset Protection.
  • Ensure adherence to housekeeping standards and programs (e.g., Zone Recovery) to maintain cleanliness and organization in the store and work areas.
  • Foster a safe and secure work environment by performing daily safety reviews, identifying hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors and gates.
  • Comply with all safety requirements pertinent to regular job responsibilities, such as top stock safety, proper installation of safety cables, use of aisle blockers, and employing safety devices.
  • Operate store equipment as required based on specific role and department responsibilities (e.g., Zebra phone, telephone, paging system, copiers, fax machines, computers, CCTV surveillance system, key cutter, panel saw, paint mixer, flooring cutters, compacter baler).

General

Minimum Requirements:

  • Less than one year of experience utilizing a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
  • Less than one year of experience with common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a retail cashier role.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferences:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and effectively explaining warranties and product features.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a head cashier position.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in any department at a Lowe’s retail store.
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience, including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees.
  • Less than one year of experience in retail environments detecting common signs of shoplifting (e.g., concealed merchandise, items hidden in carts, switched price tags).
