GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures, you will perform accurate and efficient diagnostic examinations across all areas of general radiology. The successful technologist will exhibit strong clinical skills, ensuring the highest quality images for interpretation. You will apply principles of radiation protection and adhere to all relevant regulations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
You will perform quality diagnostic exams following verification of patient identification and physician orders. This role involves acquiring accurate patient histories and documenting them in medical records, as well as monitoring patients throughout procedures to ensure their safety. You will execute radiographic and related patient care procedures using appropriate methods tailored to each patient’s physical capabilities and limitations. Timeliness and effective communication are crucial; you will relay STAT requests to radiologists promptly and communicate effectively with all departments, including customer service, administration, medical staff, and peers. Proficiency in operating diagnostic imaging equipment and adhering to policies regarding equipment malfunctions or quality control failures is essential. You will utilize ALARA standards to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and yourself. Providing procedural information and education to patients and their families before exams will also be part of your responsibilities. You will contribute to the effective operations of the department by assisting colleagues and ensuring adherence to quality assurance and control. Proficiency in using hospital computer systems for order verification, schedule viewing, and information transfer to PACS is required. Additionally, you will assist in training students and new hires, ensure exam rooms are properly maintained, stocked, and that equipment is sanitized between patients. Maintaining competency in assigned areas, including but not limited to fluoroscopy, general diagnostics, orthopedic, and operational procedures, is also expected.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:

Education / Training:
– Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program.
– Registration must be obtained within six months from the date of hire.

Work Experience:
– Training acquired at the student level is acceptable.

Certification, Licensure, Registration:
– Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required; maintaining good standing with ARRT is mandatory.

Other Qualifications:
– Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross is required upon hire.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical Effort:
– The position necessitates the ability to frequently push/pull up to 30 lb. objects with assistance; occasional lifting of objects exceeding 50 lbs. with help; and frequent lifting of items up to 40 lbs.
– Constant performance of simple motor skills, such as standing, walking, and writing, as well as frequent execution of moderately difficult manipulative skills, like positioning patients, is required.
