Annual Wage Range: $123,200.00 – $169,400.00
Other Compensation: Eligibility for the Short-Term Incentive program and additional bonuses

Grace is seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager for our South Haven, MI facility. The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and financial performance of the manufacturing operations and will serve as a key member of our Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. This role will entail leading four production crews and other site personnel to achieve safety, quality, and production objectives. The schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday, encompassing 40-hour work weeks, with potential for overtime as needed, within a 24/7 operational environment.

The South Haven site specializes in the production of a range of products for the specialty pharmaceutical industry, particularly Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). Our facility includes a cGMP kilo lab, pilot plant, and capabilities for custom manufacturing at commercial volumes, fully equipping us to develop and produce custom drug intermediates and APIs.

Responsibilities:
– Oversee the production of API products in compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) safety standards and FDA quality regulations.
– Lead the operations team to achieve Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), production, and quality benchmarks.
– Effectively manage staff and foster a cohesive team environment.
– Advocate for and promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
– Facilitate daily production reviews and strategic planning in collaboration with engineering and operations teams.
– Conduct weekly schedule reviews, collaborating with business units, Sales, R&D, QA, and other site functions for effective planning.
– Manage the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and site absorption planning, ensuring monthly production performance aligns with AOP objectives.
– Personally coordinate production updates, forecasts, and assessments of the operating plan.
– Concentrate on optimizing production, yields, cycle time (Overall Equipment Efficiency), scheduling, and fixed costs.

Required Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, with a strong preference for Chemical Engineering.
– A minimum of 7 years of experience in the chemical manufacturing industry, including leadership and management roles.

Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience in cGMP manufacturing.
– Background in API Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) operations.
– Demonstrated management experience.
