This role is situated within Information Technology Operations, supporting our Van Dyke Electric Powertrain Center, which manufactures electric power units and hybrid transmissions for our flagship Ford and Lincoln products, including the F-150 Lightning, Escape, Edge, Kuga, Maverick, Corsair, and many others. This position presents an exceptional opportunity to join the Site IT team and innovate the support that IT provides to the manufacturing division as we modernize the plant floor with cutting-edge technology aimed at reducing complexity and enhancing efficiency.
As a member of the Plant IT team, you will be responsible for maintaining the systems critical to our plant’s operations. Your key responsibilities involve providing technical support, including troubleshooting, data analysis, and resolving issues related to the applications and infrastructure utilized in the production of transmissions for Ford and Lincoln vehicles globally.
You will also contribute your expertise to enhance process improvement initiatives focused on flexible and lean manufacturing, support the integration of IIOT for Manufacturing, and sustain existing manufacturing execution systems within the facility.

What you’ll do:
- Provide support for a multi-shift operation in a manufacturing environment.
- Be available to work flexible hours, including a rotating schedule to accommodate business operations (days, nights, and/or weekends).
- Deliver technical support across various IT applications, infrastructure, operating systems, and end-user productivity tools to our manufacturing plant personnel.
- Collaborate with Business IT and stakeholders to prioritize improvement initiatives.
- Assist Plant Floor Systems and PDO teams in resolving incidents, provide hands-on support as needed, and collaborate with other global teams (e.g., DBA, Server Operations, Ops Control, Network Operations).
- Focus on the long-term integration and maintenance of applications and hardware.
- Support the team lead in managing assignments and workflows.
- Develop, maintain, and disseminate accurate support documentation.
- Maintain local network equipment in a Cisco-based environment.
- Administer servers across both physical and virtual settings in Windows and Linux ecosystems.
- Facilitate the deployment and expansion of IIOT initiatives utilizing iOS and Android-based devices.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in supporting Enterprise IT environments, specifically in:
- Dell PCs, Dell Laptops, HP Printers, and HP Servers
- Windows Server and Windows Active Directory/ADFS
- Virtual server management (vSphere)
- Server administration in Windows (2012+) or Linux
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Capable of working efficiently and collaboratively with diverse, cross-functional teams under pressure.
- Effective communication skills with both business users and IT professionals, including globally distributed teams.
- Adaptability in communication styles to suit various audiences, spanning all levels of management.
- A proactive self-starter with the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve issues independently.
- Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
