Job description:
You can make a significant impact on patients’ lives as an Environmental Service Technician with Corewell Health. In this role, you will directly contribute to high-quality care by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within assigned work areas. Your responsibilities will include cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas, as well as the removal of medical waste, trash, and linens. You will also play a vital role in upholding the appearance and condition of our floors, carpets, and upholstery.
Effective communication and collaboration with fellow team members are essential to ensure service continuity and foster a positive work environment. No prior experience is required, as you will receive comprehensive training and support, allowing you to acquire new skills and advance your career.
Essential Functions:
- Perform cleaning, disinfecting, and stocking of patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas in accordance with established procedures.
- Remove and dispose of linens and waste streams.
- Conduct interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery as per procedural guidelines.
- Assemble, maintain, and store necessary equipment and supplies to fulfill job duties in alignment with department standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure coordination of services and report any maintenance or specialized cleaning needs within the work area.
- Assist visitors and staff in navigating the hospital to their destinations.
- Operate within one designated cleaning area, with the possibility of covering other department sites based on business needs.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
- Experience in public service or customer service, particularly within hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial settings.
