Job description:

Provides overnight support for the designated team, which includes receiving and preparing products, as well as maintaining the sales floor, displays, and back stock in alignment with company standards. All Whole Foods Market Retail positions require team members to uphold a positive company image by delivering courteous, friendly, and efficient service to both customers and fellow team members at all times. Responsibilities must be executed in accordance with team and store Standard Operating Procedures. Furthermore, team members should be prepared to perform the essential duties outlined in other team member job descriptions. All positions are expected to actively support Whole Foods Market’s core values and objectives, promote national, regional, and store-specific programs and initiatives, and adhere to all applicable health and safety regulations, including food safety and regulatory duties relevant to the department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure products meet Whole Foods Market quality standards through thorough checks.
  • Accurately sort and scan waste.
  • Maintain production standards across the department.
  • Stock and clean shelves, bins, and food preparation areas consistently.
  • Organize and maintain back stock effectively.
  • Process DC and UNFI invoices for products delivered outside regular store receiving hours.
  • Check in products properly and report discrepancies to team leadership.
  • Move products from the receiving area to the sales floor or appropriate back stock locations.
  • Assist in receiving and sorting overnight deliveries for other teams.
  • Arrive at the workstation punctually, well-groomed, dressed appropriately, and prepared for work; fulfill all scheduled shifts and participate in required training sessions and meetings.
  • Provide unparalleled customer service by addressing customer needs promptly and effectively while modeling suggestive selling techniques; respond to phones and pages in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Maximize sales potential through effective procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products.
  • Ensure compliance with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation protocols, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; uphold equipment standards in accordance with Whole Foods Market’s cleanliness and safety guidelines.
  • Execute opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensure the accuracy of signage and pricing.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

  • Work involves bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.

  • Ability to work in both wet and dry conditions.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
