Responsibilities:

  • Foster an inviting atmosphere where customers feel welcome, valued, and appreciated by addressing inquiries related to products available in the department and throughout the store.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of products sold within the department to effectively respond to customer inquiries and provide thoughtful recommendations.
  • Collaborate with team members to promote teamwork and contribute to achieving store and company goals.
  • Prepare beverage selections according to established recipes and customer preferences using appropriate equipment; process transactions in accordance with company best practices.
  • Offer product samples to introduce customers to new items or products they are interested in; communicate current specials in the coffee shop.
  • Ensure the provision of fresh products to customers, adhering closely to their orders and portion sizes to minimize waste.
  • Recommend coffee shop offerings to customers to enhance their experience and ensure satisfaction.
  • Operate all coffee shop equipment, including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens, in line with company standards; accurately prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients.
  • Vigilantly check product quality to guarantee freshness; monitor "sell by" dates and take suitable action as needed.
  • Properly utilize kitchen equipment, including espresso machines, blenders, computerized scales, and steamers.
  • Organize, label, and manage inventory of department merchandise.
  • Report any discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the department manager.
  • Stay informed on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special promotions.
  • Reinforce safety initiatives by adhering to safety protocols, identifying unsafe conditions, and promptly notifying management; comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Support preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment routinely and informing the appropriate personnel of any repair needs.
  • Report any customer or employee accidents to management; escalate safety concerns, issues, or illegal activities to store management.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and at times, high-pressure environment.
