This is a seasonal position from early April 2025 to the end of October 2025. On-island housing and meals are provided at a cost of $19 per day.

The Executive Sous Chef will collaborate closely with the Executive Chef, overseeing and coordinating the activities of food preparation, kitchen, pantry, and storeroom personnel across the Main Dining Room, Cafeteria, Afternoon Tea, Grand Coffee and Provisions, and Pastry departments. Responsibilities include purchasing and requisitioning ingredients, kitchen supplies, and equipment, as well as participating in menu planning, food preparation, portion control, and cost management. The role also involves working closely with the Executive Steward to maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and ensure all equipment meets high standards. Additionally, the Executive Sous Chef will supervise cooks to guarantee quality and uphold preparation and presentation standards.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Ability to understand and achieve financial objectives.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Banquet Chef experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of cooking experience required.
  • Valid Food/Beverage Service Worker Permit, where applicable.
  • Effective communication skills with the public and fellow employees.
  • Must meet the minimum age requirement of the jurisdiction.
  • At least 2 years of kitchen management experience.
  • A college degree or certification in the culinary or hospitality field is preferred.
  • Candidates must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of themselves or others.
