AI Pay Analysis: To determine whether the hourly rate for an “Optometric Tech – Medical Assistant” in Grand Rapids, MI, is competitive, it’s essential to compare it with the industry standards for similar roles in the area. As of my last update, the average hourly wage for medical assistants in Michigan tends to range between $15 and $20, while optometric technicians may earn slightly more due to specialized skills, typically between $17 and $25 per hour. Factors such as experience, certifications, and specific job responsibilities also influence pay. If the hourly rate you have falls within or above this range, it would be considered competitive; if it is below, it may not align with industry standards. Always consider local demand and cost of living adjustments, as these can also impact salary competitiveness.
