Job description:

A Deployment Engineer position is currently open at Belcan in Evendale, OH 45215. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity that comes with comprehensive benefits. To qualify for this role, candidates must be U.S. citizens and possess a Secret Security clearance or the ability to obtain one. Additionally, candidates must hold a current CompTIA Security + CE certification or an equivalent certification, or be able to obtain one successfully. This position requires daily on-site presence; remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available.

Ideal candidates will exhibit a staff engineer competency level equivalent to an associate degree and have a minimum of four (4) years of work experience in supporting, building, and deploying any combination of the preferred current systems listed below.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and rectify vulnerabilities within existing security systems.
  • Implement patches to mitigate potential security issues.
  • Develop and implement organization-wide security measures.
  • Document known security breaches and vulnerabilities.
  • Provide constructive feedback to cybersecurity engineers to enhance proposed or existing systems.
  • Build, patch, and deploy Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches.
  • Build, patch, and deploy ISE AAA servers.
  • Install 4000 series Firepower Threat Detection firewall servers.
  • Configure Firepower Threat Detection Firewall and corresponding rules.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess L3 knowledge in at least one of the preferred current systems outlined below and at least L1+ knowledge in one or more additional areas. Extra experience in future systems will be considered an advantage. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot multiple platforms/systems and various OSI model layers.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to produce and deliver presentations and training on new technology implementations (Transition to Operations).
  • A proactive approach to researching technical issues, contributing to process and technology improvement discussions, and learning new tools and technologies relevant to their role.
  • Professional demeanor suitable for an active office setting, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior managers and decision-makers as needed.
  • Experience in collaboration, decision-making, and risk management, with skills in change planning and execution, alongside the ability to liaise with Program/Product Managers to engage necessary departments and resources.
  • Ability to work independently, if required, in a closed air-gapped environment to troubleshoot issues across various platforms that may arise during a system deployment.
