Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated Member Services Representative to enhance our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional level of customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, thereby ensuring a remarkable “Judgement Free” experience. Bilingual candidates fluent in English and Spanish are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:

• Welcome members and guests with exceptional customer service, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
• Answer phone inquiries in a friendly manner and assist callers with various questions.
• Facilitate member check-ins, conduct tours, enroll new members, log amenities, and communicate updates and events.
• Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Process beverage or merchandise transactions using the point of sale system.
• Utilize the POS system to assist with new membership cards, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

• Maintain an orderly and clean front desk area and lobby.
• Conduct regular cleaning and upkeep throughout the facility, including mopping spills, trash disposal, window and mirror cleaning, and re-racking weights.
• Ensure exercise equipment and tanning beds are cleaned regularly.
• Perform routine stocking and cleaning of restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Applicants must complete a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire; continued employment is contingent upon a satisfactory outcome.
• Exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to interact positively and professionally with members and co-workers.
• Prior experience in customer service is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• A High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• A positive, upbeat, and professional demeanor is essential.
• Punctuality and reliability are mandatory.
• CPR/AED certification must be obtained and maintained per company requirements, along with the physical ability to perform CPR/AED if necessary.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, with frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, twisting, grasping, and repetitive hand motions.
• Occasionally required to lift, carry, push, or pull moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
• Ability to communicate continuously in person or on the phone throughout the shift.
• Must maintain the physical capability to administer CPR in emergencies.
• Adequate vision and hearing capabilities, with or without corrective measures.
