Key Responsibilities:
– Create weekly dining room menus utilizing personal or established recipes.
– Supervise food preparation to uphold quality, presentation, and sanitation standards, while ensuring adherence to portion sizes and departmental rules and policies.
– Oversee the efficient operation of kitchen equipment and assist team members in maintaining cleanliness and organization in food prep areas, including proper breakdown, rotation, labeling, dating, and storage of food.
– Proactively manage food costs in alignment with parameters established by culinary leadership.
– Execute opening, closing, and side work duties in accordance with guidelines.
Qualifications:
– A minimum of two years’ experience as a Line Cook, Lead Line Cook, or Kitchen Supervisor.
– Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead and mentor others effectively.
– Attention to detail and basic mathematical skills to accurately understand, calculate, and follow recipe measurements.
– Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
– A college degree is not required.
Physical Requirements:
– Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
– Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for the duration of the shift, with occasional lifting and maneuvering of equipment such as mops and brooms.
– Manual dexterity required to chop, mix, blend, and whip a variety of foods and liquids.
