Position Summary

  • Cook: Responsible for preparing and serving food, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, in accordance with facility menus and federal, state, and local standards. Ensures proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning procedures are adhered to at all times. In the absence of the Dining Services Director, assists the Dietary Aide and oversees fellow employees with appropriate approval.
  • Safety: Adhere to safety protocols, including appropriate mixing and use of cleaning solutions. Report equipment and cleaning product needs promptly to supervisors and ensure safety and quality standards are met. Follow all infection control and universal precaution policies to maintain a sanitary environment.
  • Punctuality: Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality, completing assigned tasks timely and responding to communication promptly.
  • Customer Experience: Represent HCSG positively through courteous and cooperative interactions with supervisors, colleagues, and client staff.
  • Resident Experience: Engage residents and guests with positive, respectful, and tactful interactions.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated positive attitude and ability to follow oral and written instructions to perform routine tasks consistently.
  • Ability to utilize leadership skills to fulfill responsibilities autonomously after completing all necessary training without compromising safety.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with prior experience in food preparation being advantageous. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
  • Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is necessary as per state and county regulations.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies as mandated by state, local, and/or customers.
  • Physical ability to lift or carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push or pull up to 50 pounds, and engage in extended periods of standing, sitting, bending, and walking.
  • Capability to perform routine tasks continuously and work around food and cleaning products.
  • Must reside within the service area.
