Job Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for administering, configuring, and maintaining the UC Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems. Key responsibilities include investigating issues, responding to user support inquiries, gathering requirements, implementing new IAM solutions, and fostering collaboration with various academic and administrative departments.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate user account lifecycle management, including the creation, provisioning, securing, and deactivation of access primarily through automated processes.
  • Configure IAM components, such as drivers and scripts, and rigorously test for functionality, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Engage in projects and support operations focused on IAM implementation while coordinating with stakeholders across the university.
  • Collaborate on the design, implementation, and support of IAM technologies.
  • Contribute to projects to ensure the implementation of standardized processes and procedures during the rollout of new provisioning and role management protocols.
  • Aid in the development, implementation, and support of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) integrations and strategies.
  • Ensure that all authorization evidence is documented and archived according to internal standards.
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues related to IAM tools and processes.
  • Support application upgrades and evaluate new technologies, settings, and functionalities.
  • Enforce organizational policies and procedures to ensure that only authorized personnel have access to information in compliance with RBAC and the principle of least privilege.
  • Participate in ongoing audits and risk assessments and implement audit recommendations.
  • Ensure that dormant accounts and records are disabled, eliminating access for individuals who no longer require pertinent information.
  • Develop system access and security implementation plans based on customer operational needs and requests.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation on standard operating procedures, system configurations, and technical settings for internal team use and support for end users and other IT teams as necessary.
  • Propose efficiency improvements through process enhancements and develop solutions to automate and orchestrate repetitive IAM tasks.
  • Deliver exemplary customer service to the UC community, including students, staff, and faculty.
  • Produce and update system documentation detailing the IAM environment, including configuration settings, operating procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Required Education

  • An Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Alternatively, a combination of five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or specialized training may fulfill the educational requirement.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Experience with Identity and Access Management systems, platforms, and processes.
  • Familiarity with Micro Focus NetIQ Identity and Access Management and Microsoft Active Directory/Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra ID).
  • Background in higher education environments.
  • Proficiency with both Linux and Windows servers.
  • Experience with Federated Authentication and Single Sign-On (SSO).
  • Skills in Microsoft SQL Server and writing SQL queries.
