Job description:

We are seeking skilled Industrial Multi-Craft Maintenance Technicians to join our team at our union facility in Baltimore, OH. The ideal candidates will possess the ability to conduct preventive maintenance inspections and execute mechanical and electrical repairs on heavy manufacturing equipment and systems.

Entry-level positions offer a competitive annual salary starting at $70,000, with an hourly rate of $33.00.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a combination of routine and non-routine maintenance and repair tasks under general supervision, adhering to established procedures.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures diligently.
  • Engage in plant-wide safety initiatives, housekeeping, and continuous improvement efforts, including Operational Excellence and Lean Manufacturing practices.
  • Ensure the reliability of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment in mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, sketches, engineering specifications, and work orders to perform necessary maintenance and service.
  • Utilize hand tools and measuring instruments to assess and ensure the dimensional accuracy of parts.
  • Dismantle devices to remove defective components, utilizing both hand and power tools.
  • Participate in plant safety programs, reinforcing compliance with safety policies.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience are typically required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating machinery, hand tools, and electrical equipment.
  • Solid understanding of automated industrial machinery and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and work orders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills paired with practical mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Basic troubleshooting experience and a proven track record in machine repair.
  • Familiarity with pump internals, including the rebuilding of bearings, seals, sleeves, and proper installation/removal techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Welding, machining, and fabrication skills are advantageous.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software tools.
