Position Summary

  • Cook: Responsible for preparing and serving food, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, in accordance with facility menus and applicable federal, state, and local standards. You will ensure compliance with established policies and procedures to provide exemplary dining services, as directed by the Dining Services Director. Responsibilities include assisting with proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning procedures. In the absence of the Dining Services Director, you will also support the Dietary Aide and provide guidance to other employees with appropriate approval.
  • Safety: Adhere to safety protocols, responsibly mix and utilize cleaning solutions, and promptly report equipment or supply issues to a supervisor. Ensure compliance with established safety and quality guidelines, including infection control and universal precautions to maintain a sanitary environment.
  • Punctuality: Exhibit consistent attendance and arrive on time. Complete assigned tasks according to schedule and respond promptly to paging systems.
  • Customer Experience: Positively represent HCSG through courteous and cooperative interactions with supervisors, coworkers, and client staff.
  • Resident Experience: Engage in positive, pleasant, and tactful interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.

Qualifications

  • Maintain a positive attitude and the ability to follow oral and written instructions while performing routine, repetitive tasks.
  • Utilize leadership skills to fulfill responsibilities independently and safely upon completion of appropriate training.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Experience in food preparation is advantageous, and completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
  • Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is mandated based on State/County laws.
  • Reliability and punctuality in attendance are essential.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies is required as mandated by relevant authorities.
  • Must be able to lift or carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push or pull up to 50 pounds, and stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously while working around food and cleaning products.
  • Residency within the service area is required.
