Position Overview
Hours: Friday & Saturday, 6 PM – 6 AM, 12-hour shift.
As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for utilizing raw materials to execute mix formulas, combine ingredients to complete batches, and package materials or palletize them for shipping.

Minimum Qualifications for a Machine Operator at Dawn Foods
We seek individuals who meet the following qualifications:

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
• Ability to write routine reports
• Effective communication skills with fellow team members
• Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Capacity to apply common sense to execute instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
• Problem-solving skills in variable situations
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently
• Forklift certification is beneficial; willingness to obtain certification is required
• Basic computer skills are advantageous

Key Responsibilities as a Machine Operator

• Ensure all products produced meet specifications, and adhere to food safety and regulatory requirements
• Maintain high performance standards in housekeeping in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), American Institute of Baking (AIB), International Food Standard (IFS), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
• Accurately operate required computer systems in production processes
• Operate auxiliary equipment as necessary
• Conduct operations safely according to established manuals, training, and batch card instructions to ensure high-quality, food-safe products
• Uphold all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and GMP, including pre-start checklists, scale checks, forklift checklists, label code dates, lot numbers on formulas, and batch verification counts
• Communicate any quality, safety, scheduling, or food safety issues to the lead or supervisor promptly
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Perform all tasks safely within the framework of company GMPs, SOPs, and safety regulations
• Assist in training new team members
• Adhere to Food Defense and Security protocols within the facility
• Follow all functional guidelines as outlined in the job description
• Complete other assigned duties as necessary
• Demonstrate commitment to the “Dawn Values” of Team Dawn and contribute to the Circle of Excellence
