Job description:

We are seeking to hire a full-time Cook to join our team immediately.

The position is located at Charles Schwab, 4150 Kinross Parkway, Richfield, OH 44286. Please note that we only accept applications submitted online.

Job Summary:
The Cook prepares food in compliance with applicable federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations, following established policies and procedures to ensure quality food service at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare high-quality food items per standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery, and service schedules.
  • Serve meals or prepare them for delivery using correct portioning, maintaining outlined standards, ensuring food is served at the correct temperature and is visually appealing. Taste all prepared food items.
  • Utilize established ticket collection procedures during service and maintain accurate records from areas worked during service periods.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness post-preparation and serving, ensuring high standards. Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food handling procedures.
  • Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized, ensuring food and supplies are stored according to standards.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
  • Assist in production planning, record-keeping, and reporting as needed.
  • Support the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies.
  • Immediately report any maintenance needs, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor.
  • Attend in-service and safety meetings for ongoing training.
  • Foster positive working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
  • Adhere to safe work practices while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
  • Ensure proper food presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures; comply with HACCP standards.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety for oneself and others.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to:
    • Wearing medium-weight cut gloves when handling knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins, or cleaning slicers.
    • Using oven mitts, fryer gloves, or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers, or steam tables.
    • Wearing slip-resistant shoes and employing proper lifting techniques.
