Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Cook in the preparation and service of meals.
- Utilize protective gear in all appropriate tasks.
- Serve meals by placing prepared food on plates or trays according to tray tickets, adhering to our established policies and procedures, and following directions from the Food Services Director/Manager or Cook to ensure consistently high-quality food service.
- Prepare and deliver meals and trays, wash dishes, and clean and sanitize kitchen areas in compliance with health standards.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, maintain a professional appearance, and work effectively as part of a team.
- Embody the characteristics that drive the Company’s Purpose, Vision, Values, and DNA.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; specialized training in food service is preferred. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
- Proficiency in reading, speaking, and understanding English, as well as the ability to follow directions and complete tasks.
- Capability to adhere to time schedules for meal preparation and serving.
- Keep a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
- Dependable with experience in environments that utilize quantity food production methods.
- General knowledge of nutrition and guidelines for food preparation.
- Ability to accurately interpret and apply requirements from food tray cards.
- Competence in maintaining records and completing reports as necessary.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation procedures, as well as quantity food production and serving methods.
- Capacity to interact positively with residents, clients, colleagues, and the public.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to lift or carry a maximum of 30 pounds, push or pull a maximum of 50 pounds, and stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in proximity to food and cleaning products.
- Candidates must reside in the service area; relocation costs are not covered.
